WELCOME TO
DE BEAUVOIR

The De Beauvoir Association (DBA) is an organisation based in De Beauvoir in Hackney.  It is dedicated to informing, supporting and enriching its community.

Established in 1968, we gather and share local information, impartially, via our newsletters and social media channels. We connect people through our programme of events and are committed to inclusivity and sustainability.

We typically run two events a year – the Party in the Park and the Christmas Fair. The Party in the Park is held in the gardens of De Beauvoir Square, usually in the first week of July. It is an inclusive, family event offering plenty of fun, food and drink, and with lots of free activities for children – face-painting, a magician and a bouncy castle, to name a few.

The Christmas Fair is held in the crypt of St Peter De Beauvoir and brings together stallholders selling a wide variety of Christmassy goods. Every year we choose a charity to donate our profits to. This year the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 25th November - more info here if you're interested in taking part!

The Christmas Fair is traditionally held in the church crypt, together with the community-organised outdoor Christmas Shopping Trail (where many driveways across De Beauvoir have stalls selling a wide range of locally produced crafts and Christmas goodies).

We continue to send out our weekly email newsletter through MailChimp. This contains a wide variety of articles: interviews with local people and interesting pieces about the area’s history, alongside information about events, appeals, concerts and the very popular jazz evenings at some of our pubs.

The newsletter is community-led and we welcome contributions and suggestions.
